Main Route = 38 mile (51 without shuttle)  &  Long Route = 69 miles (56 with shuttle)

Lafayette - Broussard - Youngsville - Abbeville - Jefferson Island - Avery Island - New Iberia

Breakfast Options: Breakfast is on your own however we can recommend T-Coon's and Ramada will be offering 50% off coupons (purchase at the registration desk) to their breakfast buffet to all Cycle Zydeco participants.

6:00 - 8:15a: Registration, packet pickup, bicycle rentals and shipped bicycles at Ramada Lafayette Conference Center, 2032 Northeast Evangeline Thruway, Lafayette, LA
7:00a - 8:30a: Shuttles start running from Lafayette Hotels to Ramada Inn
7:45a - 8:30a: Pre-ride jam
8:30a: Mass Start  

8:30a: This is the only mass start for Cycle Zydeco and all riders must leave together from Ramada Inn & Conference Center in Lafayette under police escort.  

The Main & Long routes will travel together to Youngsville then at mile 14 the Main Route (38 & 51 milers) will separate from the Long Route (69 or 56 miles).  The routes will be well marked with paint & some vertical signage.  The Long route will travel to Abbeville, LA then meet the Main Route in Jefferson Island and then all routes will travel to Avery Island, home of the Tabasco Factory & Jungle Gardens.

From Avery Island we will have shuttle services available to bring you and your bike to downtown New Iberia.  From there you will easily be able to ride from New Iberia City Park to Shadows-on-the-Teche and other parts of downtown New Iberia.  If you want to ride into New Iberia from Avery Island it is an additional 13 miles (on a Thursday afternoon).  So the Main route would increase from 38 to 51 miles.  If you are riding the Long Route and decide to take the shuttle from Avery Island then the ride will be cut to 56 miles.

BROUSSARD (~10:00a):

Is the Intergalatic Boudin Capital of the World.  You will have plenty of opportunities to judge for yourself over the next few days.  On Sunday Cycle Zydeco will take you to the Scott Boudin Festival. Scott, LA is the official Boudin Capital of the World according to the State of Louisiana's legislatures.  In Broussard you will have the following opportunities for food and entertainment: Ton's, Nash's, Norbert's

YOUNGSVILLE (~11:00a):

You are now in the heart of sugar cane growing region in Lafayette Parish, once the 3rd largest producer of sugar cane in Louisiana.  It will be close to lunch and there are a several options to consider whether for a meal or adult hydration including:  Corner Bar, Morvant's Bar & Grill, Dewey's, Route 92, Hook'd Up Bar & Grill

10:00a - 1:00p:  Sugar Mill Pond, Youngsville
12:00p - 4:00p: Hwy 682, North of Lake Peigneur
2:00p - 6:00p: Tabasco Factory, Bikes and riders will be shuttled from here to New Iberia
4:00p - 6:00p: New Iberia City Park

SAG STOPS On Long route:
11:00a - 2:00p -  Abbeville
12:00p - 4:00p: Hwy 682, North of Lake Peigneur
2:00p - 6:00p: Tabasco Factory, Bikes and riders will be shuttled from here to New Iberia
4:00p - 6:00p: New Iberia City Park

JEFFERSON ISLAND & lake peigneur

At mile 27 on the main route and mile 45 on the long route you will arrive at the Rip Van Winkle Garden, Joseph Jefferson Mansion and Lake Peignuer.  If you are hungry at this point you can grab lunch at Cafe' Jefferson on the grounds.  Then stroll around and view the lake which disappeared for a few days because of a miscalculation.  The gardens are just beautiful, worth the time to explore.

ABBEVILLE (Long Route):  If you ride the longer route out to Abbeville then you will pass by the Steen's Cane Syrup Plant.  Other sites in Abbeville include the Concorde Club, Riviana Rice Mill, , Dupuis, .... Much more to add here.

AVERY ISLAND (all routes)
1:00p - 5:00p Shuttle service for bikes & riders from Avery Island to New Iberia City Park.  We will have SAG support to bring riders and their bikes in until the last riders needs a lift.

3:00p - 11:00p Shuttle services between hotels, New Iberia City Park & downtown New Iberia

The City of New Iberia is very excited to be hosting Cycle Zydeco. They have moved the date of their semi-annual art walk to coincide with the arrival of Cycle Zydeco. Riders will be on their own for dinner this night. Stay tuned for more details on New Iberia restaurants. At the end of the art walk, Cycle Zydeco will host a special concert, sponsored by Paul J. Allain, Architect, at the Steamboat Pavilion on the banks of the Bayou Teche.

4:00p - 7:00p - New Iberia art walk. Take in the sights and sounds of charming downtown New Iberia. Riders are on their own for dinner. There will be many options downtown, and we will be running a shuttle service to the restaurants that are not within walking distance. 

4:00p - 11:00p - Cash bar

6:30p - 9:30p - Concert at the Steamboat Pavilion. Music by Pine Leaf Boys.

9:30p - 11:00p - Rider's are on their own after the concert. There are many great bars in downtown New Iberia. Shuttles will be running to the hotels until 11:00 pm.
