Abbeville will be a mid day stop for the long distance route of Cycle Zydeco on Thursday.

Abbeville's founding father, was a father.  Fr. Antoine Jacques Désiré Mégret was found, and that he was born on May 23, 1797, at Abbeville in France and became founder of Abbeville in Louisiana.

The Abbeville Cultural and Historical Alliance (L'Alliance Culturelle et Historique d'Abbeville) is a joint effort of four community service organizations in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, namely, the Vermilion Arts Council, the Acadian Center, the Vermilion Historical Society, and the Giant Omelette Celebration (Confrérie d'Abbeville de l'Omelette Géante).  These organizations have banded together to share expenses to maintain a Museum and Art Gallery for displaying works of art, genealogy of the Acadians, historical documents, photographs, and artifacts, and exhibits from international omelette celebrations.

Steen's Syrup Mill began production in 1910 and is still producing 100% Pure Cane Syrup.

Giant Omelette Celebration (Confrérie d'Abbeville de l'Omelette Géante) The Confrerie d' Abbeville belongs to a worldwide fraternity of Giant Omelette Celebrations.  The Omelette cities all have one thing in common, they all are French speaking or have a community of French speaking people. The purpose of the worldwide organization is to preserve and share the French language and culture.
