What is the best lodging option?
This is one of the more common questions and it has several answers depending on your individual preferences.
WHERE IS THE ACTION?
Other than on the road, the destination point/city/town of each evening is where the camping grounds are located and are typically within a short distance of where the evening party is at!
We have shuttles running late into the evening and early in the morning to those locations as well as to and from the Cycle Zydeco designated hotels.
LAFAYETTE HOTEL vs DESTINATION TOWN
- If you stay in the Lafayette hotels then you avoid the constant checking in & out and packing & unpacking. You will not need to carry your luggage each day.
- If you stay in the Lafayette hotels your car will be easily accessible to you every day (although you should have no real need for a car during Cycle Zydeco)
- Shuttle time in the "Destination Town" hotels to the main staging area will be 5-10 minutes. The shuttle times from "Lafayette" hotels to the main staging area will range from 10-30 minutes.
PRO TIP: If you stay in a Lafayette hotel and don't want to feel yucky all day, we recommend bringing a day bag with you each day. A towel, shower essentials, dancing shoes, change of clothes and a fresh pair of undies will make a world of difference! You can also grab a beer and shuttle back to your hotel to shower then shuttle back to the post ride party.
WHAT IF I DO NOT STAY IN A CYCLE ZYDECO RECOMMENDED HOTEL?
If you do not stay in a designated CZ hotel listed on this website then you are responsible for your own transportation. Our shuttle only services the hotels we have designated.
ARE THERE LOCAL B&B's?
There are B&B's in downtown Breaux Bridge and New Iberia that are near the main staging areas. We will not have shuttle services to those places but they may be in easy walking/riding distance to our main staging area.
WHERE DO I KEEP MY BIKE?
Your bike will stay at the staging area & campsite. We have security on site at the camping and staging areas. Nonetheless, be sure to have your bike lock.
