Itinerary Snap Shot

  • Arriving at Cycle Zydeco:  Check in for CZ is at St. Bernard School (251 E. Bridge St., Breaux Bridge, LA).  At Base Camp there will be racks to store your bikes.  Be sure to lock them.   If you are tent camping with your own gear you can drop off the gear at the North end of the school and then park your car at one of the available lots..

  • Car Parking:  There is plenty of street side parking downtown Breaux Bridge around St. Bernard School.  We also have 4 designated parking areas nearby.

  • Bike Parking:  We have bike racks at St. Bernard School.  If you want to store your bike at your hotel, BnB or RV then you will need to coordinate your own transportation.  Bikes are not permitted on the morning and evening shuttles.

  • Shuttles: Complimentary for all participants.  Shuttles run between Lafayette hotels, Studio 6 (Breaux Bridge) and Bayou Wilderness RV Campground.  Every morning and afternoon  (Thr-Sun). 

  • “Leap Frog” Shuttles: Take you and your bike to a point about half way on long routes or to Wednesday ride opportunities.  $15 per trip (complimentary for VIP) RSVP required.  Shuttles will run to:

    • Wednesday (prior to check-in) to Jefferson Island & Rip Van Winkle Gard

    • Thursday to Bayou Teche Brewery in Arnaudville, LA

    • None on Friday

    • Saturday to Shadows on Teche in New Iberia, LA

    • None on Sunday. We are consdering one to Sunset, LA

  • Options around Cycle Zydeco: You can’t beat the party at Cycle Zydeco.  However, there are a few other festivals taking place around the Acadiana area during Cycle Zydeco.  Some of the daily rides will take you there.  

Zydeco Buck ($ZB): Zydeco Bucks can be used as cash at participating businesses any time April 8-13.  After the ride is over we redeem the $ZB and pay the businesses.  Participating businesses include:



Wednesday April 8: Day 0

Check In | Brass Band | Easy Riding Island Tour or Downtown Lafayette 

9:00 AM  |  Early Check In for those riding Jefferson Island to Avery Island. This is not mandatory or necessary you can ride on your own

11:00 AM - 7:00 PM  |  Expo & Check In St. Bernard School & Parc des Ponts Breaux, 251 E. Bridge St.  Breaux Bridge, LA

Check-in, rental and shipped bike pick up, bar, food vendors, tent camping, bike racks. Tent campers, we will have a drop zone for you to leave your gear then go park your car and return to setup camp.  Shower trailers are available from Wednesday through Sunday.

10:00 AM  |  Leap Frog Shuttle to Jefferson Island$15 for round trip ticket, complimentary for VIP

11:30 AM  |  Group Ride from Jefferson Island led by Kerry Drive or shuttle to Rip Van Winkle Gardens & Jefferson Home, then ride to Avery Island & Tabasco.  This route is marked and you can ride on your own at any time.  There are places to eat at both locations.

1:00 PM  |  Group Ride from Adopted Dog Brewery to downtown Lafayette & University of Louisiana led by Mike Hefner

3:30 PM  |  Leap Frog Shuttle departs Jefferson Island back to Breaux Bridge

4:00 PM - 6:00 PM  |  Scavenger Hunt Check In & Prizes

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM  |  Music by Soul Express

Thursday: Day 1

Group Start  | Arnaudville | Leonville | Washington

There are numerous route options on Thursday - 46, 65 and 97 mile options.  Go long, it offers the best roads and scenery.  We also have a “Leap Frog” shuttle option that cuts 23 miles off the routes.

If you are looking for a short ride then consider riding out to Lake Martin.  There is a gravel road and dirt loop trail (5 miles) that is ridable if dry.   It is a great time of the year to do some bird watching.  Check Day 0 for routes to Lake Martin.
